There are two very unusual looking pieces on eBay from the same vendor with "IOW Glass England" and "Isle of Wight Glass England" on the base, but no maker's signature. The script looks similar to Timothy Harris's hand, but why leave out his name? Are these genuine IOWSG pieces? Here are the links:

Hi
I dont think the first 2 pieces have been signed by the same person who signed the piece from Ghostfish.
His piece has the Isle of Wight in full and the E and G look different on the first 2 compared with the 3.

The bell vase just sold for £313!  Shocked OK OK what did I just miss? It must have been something special. Was it a recognised design or a one off?  Huh

See p.66 of Mark's book - the Sun & Moon vase?

(Only this was nicer!)

See p.135 of Mark's book for the explanation of the written marks.

Things released for sale from the Archives have "IoW Glass England" writtten on their bases. I have two strapped Aurene/Seawood pieces, (in the teal colourway) which seem to have Tim's writing on them (they were purchased in recent years) although he would not have been involved in their making.

I wouldn't say Sun & Moon vase. I was thinking possibly Undercliff Sunset or Sunrise, made 1989-1991. But since I have never seen these designs I wasn't going to bid over £300 on a hope and a prayer. I hope the buyer frequents this forum and fills us in.

If I'd had enough to put on it I would have. It wouldn't have been a "hope and a prayer".
It's right, whatever it is, and I don't care what it's called - I just love it.
I called it the "Sunnymoon". I wanted it.  Cry

Hi Anton & All,

Just noticed this post and, to put it to rest, these pieces were from the Studio Archive collection which I was given the opportunity to sell about 5 years ago.
None of them were originally marked but I felt they needed to be as they were so untypically IoW Glass. I just wanted to make sure that at any time in the future they could be properly identified so I asked Tim to simply mark them as Isle of Wight Glass England, or a variation of that statement.
This and quite a few others were sold over the space of 18 months or so and many of our avid's bought pieces at both Cambridge and Gaydon Glass fairs. They are clearly now proving to be worthwhile purchases as they went originally for between £100 and £150.
Not a bad return for the original buyer.
I have a full listing and images of all the pieces sold.

I will point out again that you are all quite welcom to contact me direct for this sort of info instead of it going round in ever decreasing circles before you get to the bottom of it.
Either that or just advise me that you have posted something needing some input. I doin't have all the answers but am sure I can help in most cases. I just don't have the time to look up all the forums as regularly as I would like.. So,.. just give me a nod !!

Best regards,
Ron & Ann

Thanks for the extra info Ron, all very welcome.  If the Archive page on the IOWSG site could be updated it would save you from receiving repeated requests for the information on sold items.  It would also help educate me/us on past production.  If more of these pieces appear for sale would you like to be informed directly?
