THE JIM 'CRINT' DAVIES TROPHY - FOR EXCELLENCE

The Squadron Leader Jim 'Crint' Davies Trophy is awarded to the aircrew officer or airman who, in the opinion of the Station Commander, has discharged their duties in the most professional manner, achieving excellence in their primary role while holding fast with the traditions of the Royal Air Force, embracing our fine lineage through Coastal Command to the present day.

The winner of the Trophy will have demonstrated their abilities in the air and on the ground in an exemplary fashion, but must also capture the quintessential social and personal qualities that mark our people as being 'different from the rest'.

The trophy, which is mounted on a slate plinth representing the enduring rocks of the coast, is a unique mix of colours from the sea and sky, depicting the transition from the churning turbulence of the ocean to the placid peace of the air above. It stands not only as a symbol of our Coastal roots, but its modern design also illuminates the future where the qualities of a rounded 'Coastal' man and the steadfast spirit and traditions of the past should be remembered, nurtured and emulated by those that follow.
